If you contact us to book into a quiet day or retreat, or if you would like to be kept informed of our activities at Breathing Space, we will collect, store and use the information you provide in the following ways:
- Collecting information about you
We only collect information that you provide voluntarily by contacting us or completing a booking form. By providing your personal data to us, you agree to us storing or processing this. We do our upmost to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to make sure that your data is stored securely and used appropriately.
- Using your information
We use the information that we collect from you to provide our services to you. In addition to this we may use the information for one or more of the following purposes:
- To provide information to you that you request from us relating to our quiet days.
- To inform you of any changes to our website.
- To keep you informed about news, events, activities and services at Breathing Space.
We will not provide your personal information to any other individual or organisation, except where we are legally required to by law.
- Storing your information
We will comply with our obligations under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by keeping all personal information we hold up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or keeping unnecessary or excessive information; and by taking appropriate steps to protect against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access and disclosure of personal data.
We will keep your contact details for as long as we continue to run Breathing Space as a retreat centre, or you ask us to remove them. E-mails will be kept for five years and then deleted. Any personal or contact data collected for running retreats or quiet days will be kept for the duration of the event and then deleted.
- Access to information
Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- The right to request a copy of your personal data which we hold about you following the supply of appropriate evidence of your identity
- The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date
- The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for us to retain such data
- The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time
- The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing
- The right to object to the processing of personal data, (where applicable)
- The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.
